San Beda College Senior Men’s Team reigned supreme for the 10th consecutive time in the 86th National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Swimming Championships held last August 18-20 at the Rizal Memorial Swimming Complex.
San Beda’s Wilfredo Sunglao Jr. was named the Most Valuable Player in the competition.
The La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (CSB) and Emilio Aguinaldo College finished in second and third respectively.
However in the Juniors Division, La Salle-Greenhills landed the top spot, with San Sebastian College Recoletos in second, and San Beda College in third.
The Senior Women’s division also debuted this season where San Beda also nabbed the top spot and freshman Hannah Dato was named the Rookie of the Year.
CSB and Arellano University completed the podium slots. –KF

The University of the Philippines’ Senior Women’s team defended their title in the 74th University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Swimming Championship last September 22-25 at the Trace Aquatic Sports Complex in Los Banos, Laguna, with Ateneo de Manila and De La Salle Universities in second and third place.
Failing to secure their title was University of the Philippines’ Senior Men’s Division—dropping out of the podium contention altogether—as De La Salle University makes a huge comeback by ruling the season, winning over University of Sto. Tomas and Ateneo de Manila.
Meanwhile in the Juniors’ Division, the Ateneo boys teamnabbed their 7th consecutive title, trumping UST and De La Salle Zobel. University of the East came out triumphant over UST with an 8-point lead in the Girls division. In third was UP. -KF
